The Samaritans 5K Run/Walk and Family Fun Festival!

It's a Great Day to be Alive!

The 16th Annual Samaritans "Run/Walk for Someone Else's Life" 5K and Family Fun Festival will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Artesani Park in Brighton, MA. Last year, over 3,000 joined us to raise awareness for Samaritans and celebrate life. Thanks to everyone who participated, over $350,000 was generated for suicide prevention. This year, we have raised our goal to $400,000 towards our life-saving services. We hope you will join us; and by doing so you will be helping reduce incidences of suicide, educate the public about suicide prevention, and reduce the stigma associated with suicide. Click here to sign up for the 5K or to make a donation today!

There are Many Ways to be Involved with the 5K:

-Walk or Run! The course is a sanctioned 5K Race, but many people choose to walk the beautiful course. This year, the we are limited to 800 runners, so if you are interested in running please sign up ASAP!
-Organize a 5K Team! Participating in this heart-warming event with family and friends can make your experience even more memorable. If you would like to join an existing team, click here.
-Volunteer! On the day of the event, we need more than 150 event volunteers to do everything from set-up to face painting to helping with the course. Volunteer by yourself, or form a group with your friends, family or classmates. Volunteers receive a free t-shirt!
-Sign up as a Virtual Participant! Can't make it to this year's 5K? You can still join us in spirit AND raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention by signing up as a virtual participant.

Samaritans is a locally based non-profit organization, and all of the proceeds generated from the 5K stay right here in Massachusetts and fund our life-saving services, including our 24/7 helplines, Community Education and Outreach, and Grief Support Services for those who have lost a loved one to suicide. These vital services are available to the families, friends and neighbors that live in our community, free of charge. We are the only suicide prevention walk in the Commonwealth that provides financial support to the 24/7 crisis lines answered by Samaritans, including those calls we answer from the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
