The Samaritans 5K Run/Walk and Family Fun Festival
We are excited to announce that the 15th annual 5K Run/Walk and Family Fun Festival will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Early registration is now open. Please join us - it is a great day to be alive!
Samaritans is a locally based non-profit organization, and all of the proceeds generated from the 5K stay right here in Massachusetts and fund our life-saving services, including our 24/7 helplines, Community Education and Outreach, and Grief Support Services for those who have lost a loved one to suicide. These vital services are available to the families, friends and neighbors that live in our community, free of charge. We are the only suicide prevention walk in the Commonwealth that provides financial support to the 24/7 crisis lines answered by Samaritans, including those calls we answer from the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
To receive updates about the 5K throughout the summer, please add your name to our mailing list and follow us on Facebook and Twitter!
Follow the 5K on Twitter using the hashtag #Samaritans5K. And tag us in your 5K Facebook posts using @samaritansinc.

It rained all night and was still drizzling during set-up, but when registration opened at 8am, the rain stopped, and people came out in record numbers! We had more teams, more runners, more walkers and the greatest community spirit ever! It was so inspirational to see see Artesani Park awash in the colors of team t-shirts, as individuals and teams walked and ran for someone else's life
The event set many new records for Samaritans. More people came and raised more money than ever before. Whether you walked or ran, individually or as a part of a team, or if your contribution was to support a team or individual participant - we thank you for getting us this far. If you've gathered pledges, and were unable to join us on Saturday, please send them in - all donations will continue to count toward the 5K, and will be sure to push us up over our goal!
If the rain kept you away, please consider making a donation to our "In Our Hearts" page in honor of all of those who came to and walk and run in honor of our loved ones and raise awareness about suicide prevention.
